MAFT members have visited syrian refugees in Turkey the last 2 years to oversee food distribution and winter blanket/clothing packs to refugees affected by the recent earthquake, poverty and harsh climates such as hot summers and cold winters.
The latest project is to renovate a historical building in to facilitate educational services and work skills for orphans, disabled children and widowswhich is regulated by the Turkish government and an administration centre serving a dozen schools in the locality. This is an exciting sustainable project which will serve the local refugee community for many years. The work has already started on the project but we need your generous support and duas in order to successfully complete this project. Please donate generously.
Maft visited in July 2024 in which due to a donation by a Forest Gate resident we were able to help co- ordinate 150 cataract surgeries with the
help of specialist doctors that have been called over from Turkiye.
In Januray 2024 we also managed to provide much needed fuel to the tents where people were able to use it for heating. The conditions are very
difficult with -3 degrees so it was vital we provided this support. We also provided 170 heating systems for tents like the ones shown in the pictures. Maft again visited in March 2024 in preparation for Ramadhaan to distribute food packs in an areas where they had a very young population dependent on aid. In September we again visited the refugee camps where we carried out school supplies, bags, food and clothes distribution.
